SHAHI TAJ Designs is a fresh new label for an evolving INDIAN fashion scene. The eponymous label is the brainchild of 24 year-old designer, Safa http://youtu.be/e0V3OsfhZOE SHAHITAJ. After years of working in fashion retail and two years of study at MSIT, Safa realised her dream of launching her own design business with the release of her inaugural range, ‘SAFA Lovers’ . In 2012, SHAHI TAJ will introduce high-end, luxurious and quality SAFA to a market that is crying out for lovingly designed, meticulously crafted clothing with a difference.

In a world of fast fashion, cheap fabrics and mass production,SHAHI TAJ Designs is uncompromising on ethics and quality. With a strong desire to change perceptions and challenge the fashion ‘establishment’, Safa has made a commitment to fair and ethical production. Inherent in the SHAHI TAJ philosophy is a dedication to creating beautiful fashion with a conscience; 100 percent COTTON ,PURE ,GOLDEN LINE IN COTTON designed and made, all fabrics are natural and organic, meaning the clothes you buy don’t have to cost the earth. Not content with the impacts – environmental or social – of overseas production Safa sought a higher onshore standard so the SHAHI TAJ MEN  can wear hIS  garments with confidence. The designer’s resolute approach to luxury extends not only to the production process but also to the design and construction of each SAFAt. Taught from a young age by her discerning seamstress mother that luxury – like beauty – isn’t MEN HEAD, Safa is adamant that each piece maintains its luxurious feel from outside to inside, with all SAFA featuring silk or natural breathable lining.  With an application for an Ethical Clothing INDIAN  accreditation underway, Safa hopes that SHAHI TAJ Designs will join other INDIAN labels already pushing the boundaries to create a more sustainable industry.

Inspired by the designer’s love of simplicity, the SHAHI TAJ Designs aesthetic is minimal and uncomplicated with an eclectic edge. Clean, simple and flattering to the male form, SHAHI TAJ Designs features contrasting fabrics like silk, PURE JODJAT and organic cotton (within the same garment) – appealing to the senses but challenging to the wearer’s personal aesthetic, demanding they step outside the box to produce their own distinct style.

Although original, SHAHI TAJ Designs pays homage to an era when classic elegance ruled and the time and care taken to create a collection was treasured. Each piece is an individual part of a cohesive whole with the ability to adapt dependent on the wearer’s own flair.

“I don’t appreciate vanity but I want people to be critical about how they style themselves and make sure they feel comfortable with the way they look,” Safa said. “I hope my pieces can be a beautiful, classic addition that can be integrated seamlessly into any wardrobe.”
